Abstract

Blood pressure (BP) is one of the most significant fundamental parameters of cardiac and vascular conditions of human body. Most of the electronic BP measurement devices use the oscillometric method. This method does not suffer from any limitation as the well-known auscultatory method and it is also suited for wearable health monitoring systems. In this paper is presented a simple model of a non-invasive blood pressure measurement device, based on the oscillometric principle. We analyzed the basic instrumentation for signal acquirement and preprocessing, and simulated their effectiveness in the PROTEUS environment.
